How can you find images that you are allowed to use?

  1. Navigate to Google Images: Open your browser and go to images.google.com.
  2. Perform Your Search: Type your keyword into the search bar and press Enter.
  3. Open Search Tools: Click the Tools button located just below the search bar on the right side.
  4. Select Usage Rights: Click the Usage Rights dropdown menu that appears
  5. Click Creative Commons licenses

How can you check to see if an image you are using is legal for you to use?

  1. Go to Google Images and click the camera icon.
  2. Upload the image file or paste its URL.
  3. Click "Find Image Source" to see where else it exists online.

How will you be contacted if you are caught using a copyrighted image illegally?
If caught using copyrighted images illegally, you will typically be contacted via a formal demand letter (cease and desist) or an email
What are the penalties and/or fees for illegally using a copyrighted image?
