Metallica

Metallica is one of my favorite bands because of the members, the overall sound, and because I've listened to them since I was little.

METAL --Metallica is an American heavy metal band. It was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and has been based in San Francisco for most of its career. The band's fast tempos, instrumentals and aggressive musicianship made them one of the founding "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. Metallica's current lineup comprises founding members and primary songwriters Hetfield and Ulrich, longtime lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. Guitarist Dave Mustaine, who formed Megadeth after being fired from Metallica, and bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted are former members of the band.

How Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica

On the morning of April 10th, 1983, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, and Cliff Burton woke Dave Mustaine up, and informed him that he was fired from the band. The Dismissal came to Mustaine as a complete surprise. Just a few hours earlier he was standing on a stage with his three friends performing at the "L'Amour Club" in Brooklyn, New York and a day later he found out that the band was kicking him out. When Dave asked his friends when are they flying back to California, he was told he was not flying. His bandmates bought him a bus ticket for a four-day ride to California, and the bus was leaving from Manhattan Central Station in one hour. The stunned and confused Dave packed his bag took his guitar and got into the car along with Hetfield who drove him to the bus station. Mustaine had a drinking problem. His bandmates had had enough. Dave went on to create a new band named "Megadeth".

5 Seconds of Summer

5SOS is one of my favorite bands because all of their songs are great, I love all the members and what they do, and listening to them makes me happy.

POP --5 Seconds of Summer, often shortened to 5SOS, are an Australian pop rock band formed in Sydney in 2011. The group consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. Originally beginning their career as YouTube celebrities, they rose to international fame while touring with English-Irish boy band One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour. Since 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer have sold more than 10 million albums, sold over 2 million concert tickets worldwide, and have attained more than 7 billion streams of their songs on music streaming services, making them one of the most successful Australian musical acts in history. Michael Gordon Clifford (born 20 November 1995) is an Australian musician, best known as the lead guitarist. Luke Robert Hemmings (born 16 July 1996) is an Australian singer and musician, best known for being the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and a founding member. In early 2014, the band released "She Looks So Perfect" which topped the charts in four countries.Their self-titled debut album was released in 2014, peaking at number one in 11 countries. The band released their second album Sounds Good Feels Good in 2015, topping the charts in 8 countries. The band's third album Youngblood, released in 2018, was yet another commercial success and became their third number one album in their home country. In the US, 5 Seconds of Summer became the first Australian act to achieve three number one albums on the Billboard 200 album chart. They also became the first band (not vocal group) to have their first three full-length albums debut at the top in the US. I've loved the Beatles my whole life, there's even a baby picture of me in a Beatles shirt on a Beatles book. My favorite member is Paul. My favorite album is the White Album.

ROCK--The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The core lineup of the band comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are widely regarded as the most influential band in popular music and were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and the recognition of popular music as an art form. Rooted in skiffle, beat and 1950s rock 'n' roll, their sound incorporated elements of classical music and traditional pop in innovative ways. The band also explored music styles ranging from folk and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock. Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is an English musician. He gained fame with the Beatles, for whom he was the bassist and keyboardist, and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. One Direction just became one of my favorite bands because my friend loves them. I've known about them and their songs for a while now though. My favorite members are Louis and Harry.

Harry Edward Styles (born 1 February 1994) is an English singer, songwriter, and actor. His showmanship, artistry, and flamboyant fashion have had a significant impact on popular culture. I know a ton about Pantera and I saw them along with Metallica and Suicidal Tendencies in Blacksburg on May 7th 2025. My favorite members are Rex and Phil.

METAL--Pantera (/pænˈtɛrə/) is an American heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas in 1981 by the Abbott brothers (guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul), and currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. The group's best-known lineup consisted of the Abbott brothers along with Brown and Anselmo, who joined in 1982 and 1986, respectively. The band is credited for developing and popularizing the subgenre of groove metal in the 1990s. Regarded as one of the most successful and influential bands in heavy metal history, Pantera has sold around 20 million records worldwide and has received four Grammy nominations. Having started as a glam metal band, Pantera released three albums in the mid-1980s with lead vocalist Terry Glaze (Metal Magic, Projects in the Jungle, and I Am the Night), with little success. Looking for a new and heavier sound, Pantera recruited Anselmo in 1986 and released Power Metal in 1988. They secured a record deal with major label Atco the following year. Their fifth album (which the band has since declared to be their official debut album), Cowboys from Hell (1990), popularized the groove metal genre, while its follow-up Vulgar Display of Power (1992) achieved an even heavier sound and increased their popularity. Vinnie Paul went on to form Hellyeah after his brother's death and died of heart failure in 2018, leaving Brown and Anselmo as the only surviving members of the band's best-known lineup. In July 2022, it was announced that Brown and Anselmo were reuniting in 2023 for Pantera's first tour in 22 years, with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante filling in for the Abbott brothers on guitar and drums, respectively. The new lineup played its first show at the Hell and Heaven festival in Mexico on December 2, 2022, and the tour will continue into 2026.

Rex Robert Brown (born July 27, 1964) is an American musician. He is the longtime bassist for heavy metal band Pantera, having joined the band in 1982. Following the band's reunion in 2022, Brown is the longest-serving member of the band. He is also a former member of the supergroup Down (2001–2011) and a former bassist for Kill Devil Hill. He released his debut solo album Smoke on This... in 2017. For the first time in Brown's career, the work features him not only as a bassist but also as lead vocalist and guitarist. Brown authored a book called Official Truth 101 Proof, which was released in April 2013. The book documents Pantera's formation, career, and disbandment.

KoRn

I got into KoRn around 2023/2024 and since then they have been my favorite band. I know lots about them and have tons of posters and merch. My favorite member is Jonathan.

METAL--Korn (stylized as KoЯn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, originally formed in 1993 by James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu and David Silveria, who were members of the band L.A.P.D. Their current lineup features Shaffer (guitar), Brian "Head" Welch (guitar), Jonathan Davis (vocals), and Ray Luzier (drums), the last of whom replaced Silveria in 2007. The band is notable for pioneering and popularizing the nu metal genre. Korn made a demo tape, Neidermayer's Mind, in 1993, which was distributed free to record companies and on request to members of the public. Their debut album Korn was released in 1994, followed by their commercial breakthrough, Life Is Peachy, in 1996. The band first experienced mainstream success with Follow the Leader (1998) and Issues (1999), both of which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The band's mainstream success continued with Untouchables (2002); Take a Look in the Mirror (2003); and See You on the Other Side (2005). A compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, was released in 2004, spanning a decade of singles and concluding the band's recording contract with Immortal Records and Epic Records. Korn is the debut studio album by the American nu metal band Korn. It was released on October 11, 1994, through Immortal and Epic Records. Before recording the album, the band was approached by Immortal/Epic Records after a performance in Huntington Beach, California. The band signed to their label because they did not want to "sign away all of their creative freedom". The band would record at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, California, with producer Ross Robinson, who also produced their 1993 demo Neidermayer's Mind. The recording took place from May to June 1994. After the recordings, Korn toured with Biohazard and House of Pain. Photography was done by Stephen Stickler, and the design was directed by Jay Papke and Dante Ariola. The album's first single, "Blind", charted at number 15 on the Canadian Alternative 30, and the album peaked at number 10 in New Zealand as well as number 72 on the Billboard 200. The album had sold at least 2.1 million copies in the United States by 2003. Many consider the album to have started the nu metal genre. Korn toured with many bands to promote the album. Initially, Korn joined the Sick of It All Tour. Following the Sick of It All Tour, Korn joined the Danzig 4 Tour. Korn also toured with Megadeth, Fear Factory, and Flotsam and Jetsam.

Linkin Park

I've liked Linkin Park for years but really got into them in 2024. I've listened to all of their songs. My favorite album in the world is Hybrid Theory. In 2024 I listened to it over 300 times.

METAL--Linkin Park was founded by three high school friends: Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson. The three attended Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. After graduating from high school, the three began to take their musical interests more seriously, recruiting Joe Hahn, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, and Mark Wakefield to perform in their band, then called Xero. Though limited in resources, the band began recording and producing songs within Shinoda's makeshift bedroom studio in 1996, resulting in a four-track demo album, entitled Xero, released in November 1997. That same month, the band performed their first show, opening for SX-10 and System of a Down at the Whisky a Go Go, a nightclub in West Hollywood. Delson introduced the band to Jeff Blue, the vice president of A&R for Zomba Music, whom he had interned for in college. Blue offered the band constructive criticism to catch the attention of record labels. Blue himself was impressed with Xero after watching them play a live show in 1998 but believed the band needed a different vocalist. Tensions and frustration within the band grew after they failed to land a record deal. The lack of success and stalemate in progress prompted Wakefield, at that time the band's vocalist, to leave the band in search of other projects.

Chester Charles Bennington (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017) was an American singer who was the lead vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park. He was also the lead vocalist of Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, and Stone Temple Pilots at various points in his career. Bennington first gained prominence as a vocalist following the release of Linkin Park's debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which was a worldwide commercial success. The album was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2005, making it the bestselling debut album of the decade. He continued as the band's lead vocalist for their next six studio albums, from Meteora (2003) to One More Light (2017), with each charting within the top three spots of the Billboard 200. POP--Tucker Harrington Pillsbury (born May 15, 1997), known professionally as Role Model (stylized in all caps), is an American singer-songwriter and former rapper. After self-releasing his debut extended play Arizona in the Summer in 2017, he earned a following online and was signed to Interscope Records in 2018. He later released two EPs–Oh, How Perfect (2019) and Our Little Angel (2020)–through Interscope and Polydor Records. His debut studio album, Rx, was released in 2022. His second album, Kansas Anymore, was released in 2024.

He then released a deluxe edition of the album, Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye), in February 2025, alongside the upbeat country-inspired single, "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out", which gained some popularity on TikTok after he teased the song pre-release. The album, overall, received positive reviews from audience and critics alike, with ACRN Media praising Pillsbury for his growth and transition into a pop-folk sound. Beginning in September 2024, he performed as an opening act for the US leg of Gracie Abrams' world tour for her second album, The Secret of Us, concluding in October 2024. On December 9, 2024, Role Model was announced to be the opener for Gracie Abrams' The Secret Of Us Deluxe Tour commencing in July 2025.
